Benjamin Ticknor

Ben Ticknor is a PhD student in the Statistics Department at UCSC, where his research focuses on extreme value modeling with applications to hazardous coastal events. His work aims to develop advanced statistical methods for better understanding and predicting the frequency and severity of extreme coastal hazards, such as storm surges and flooding. By improving risk assessment in these areas, he hopes to contribute to more effective mitigation strategies and resilience planning for coastal communities.
