Chase Davenport

Chase Davenport is a teacher, writer and researcher who helps coastal cities manage their beaches.  No stranger to inspiring change, Chase began his career as a kindergarten teacher for Teach for America in Richmond, CA. He was then a researcher at UC Berkeley and at Accenture, where he used artificial intelligence to better understand relationships between humans and the environment. Chase’s work is focused on predicting how rising waves and rising sea levels will change beaches. He also works with the people that depend on those beaches for protection – collaborating with communities to define what coastal resilience means to them as waves test the edges of their safety. After a decade of living and working just blocks from San Francisco’s Ocean Beach, Chase is now helping the city of San Francisco understand how their iconic beach is changing and what they can do about it.
