Georgia Third

Georgia Third is a PhD Student in the Palkovacs lab. Her research focuses on interactions between fisheries, ecology and evolution to inform sustainable fisheries management. Her PhD focuses on answering questions related to these dynamics specifically for steelhead/ rainbow trout (O. mykiss). In her role as a CCCR fellow she is exploring how wildfire affects fisheries resilience and eco-
evolutionary dynamics. This involves examining how wildfire may shift interactions between O. mykiss populations, benthic macroinvertebrate communities and ecosystem functioning in Coastal Streams in the Santa Cruz mountains.
