Saul Villegas is a multimedia artist working across painting, digital photography, and the moving image. His work explores perception and optics, using digital tools to construct and refine illustrative immersive environments. He earned his Master of Fine Arts in Digital Arts and New Media from the University of California, Santa Cruz (2024), as part of the Future Stages cohort. Villegas currently serves as faculty in the Art & Art History Department at San José State University, where he teaches digital video and contributes to the CADRE Media Lab. He is currently serving as an artist-in-residence, appointed jointly by the Institute of Marine Sciences and the Center for Coastal Climate Resilience.
