Sidney Opiyo

Sidney Opiyo is an environmental scientist, conservation storyteller, and photographer from Kenya, dedicated to addressing environmental challenges and empowering marginalized communities. His interest is in climate resilience, marine conservation, and community-driven climate adaptation. As an MSc Coastal Science and Policy Fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Sidney’s research is focused on integrating scientific research, policy advocacy, and storytelling to bridge the gap between top-down climate policies and local adaptation efforts, especially in the context of small-scale fisheries.
