Center Research Symposium October 2024

In October 2024, the UC Santa Cruz Center for Coastal Climate Resilience held its Annual Research Symposium at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center. Founded in Fall 2022 with a $20 million grant from the State of California, the Center is dedicated to advancing solutions for coastal resilience in response to climate change. Over the past two years, it has funded over 40 projects and supported more than 35 research fellows at UC Santa Cruz and with partners.

This half-day symposium featured 25 lightning talks by research teams from across UC Santa Cruz’s divisions, including Arts, Humanities, Sciences, Engineering, and Social Sciences. The event provided an opportunity for research teams to share progress, foster collaborations, and showcase the Center’s impactful work. The day concluded with live music and tacos. This video highlights key moments and insights from an inspiring day committed to building a resilient future for California’s coastlines and beyond.
