Innovative Communications for Risks & Solutions
Innovative communication is key to helping the community, stakeholders and decision-makers understand the growing scope of climate risks and, more importantly, the solutions that can help address them. However, communicating findings from climate research with non-scientific audiences can often be challenging.
Center researchers are tackling this problem from a variety of angles, like using art visualizations to build immersive experiences, and collaborating with policy makers and community members on more effective engagement and communication strategies.
Communications projects that are helping to tell stories include:
- Artists in Computational Media, Games and Playable Media, and other departments are developing exhibits and tools that help people to face growing risks.
- The Seymour Marine Discovery Center is creating dynamic exhibits and community engagements.
- The Resolve Lab is developing state-of-the art visualizations using game engine technology that vividly illustrate the promise of nature-based solutions and informed management to key decision makers in international forums.
- CCCR fellows in the Science Communications Program are publishing impactful features addressing the scope of climate change.
